Throttle body disassembly?

Throttle body disassembly?
Can I take apart the throttle body without gears flying everywhere? I want to paint the 2 cases as they are pretty rough looking and will also be cleaning up my alternator. Any advice would be great!

I wanted to soak it in something to make it not look so nasty, but I found out when I took it apart that there is a bearing that must have been pressed in right behind the TPS. It has little prongs that look like it was pushed in with some kind of die. So im just going to be taping things off and trying to clean it the best I can!

I ended up taking it apart and putting it right back together. The bearing behind the TPS cannot be removed, so i couldnt let the thing soak in cleaner anyway. I have alredy hit it lightly with a wire brush, i had previously degreased and taped off where the TPS goes. I will be painting the TB and my disassembled alternator high temp flat black. Im trying to contrast all the other silver pieces that are in the engine bay that I just painted.
