Default Breather change

Hey, I'm new to this forum and to owning a vette, 98 C5. Can someone give me a little advice? I want a little more thoartier sound, without alot of change because I'm more than pleased with the power, speed and mph as she sits. Should I go with jus a better breathing muffler or new set of pipes? Do I have to mess with or let someone mess the on-board computer too after the change?

Appreciate any guidance,

Thanks

Get a performance catback system like Corsa or Borla something along that line. The choices are endless.

Z06 titanium cat backs are a popular choice for C5 exhaust upgrades. They are a direct bolt on, and no PCM reprogramming is needed afterward.

Good used sets of Z06 titaniums are selling in the $300-$400 range on this Forum.

If you really want to find out the sound that your looking for, Youtube is your best friend. Even manufacture websites will give you some sound clips.

I purchased B&B Bullets for my car. Definitely made it louder than stock, but I also want to be heard. Loud Pipes save lives.

If you just want something a little more throatier, you can't beat the Magnaflow 16732 catback exhaust. I love mine and the sound just gets better with time. Never loud but a very deep and throaty muscle car sound. The quality is excellent and you will not find better looking exhaust tips. Check out the photos in my profile. There is no programming or anything else required for the install. Took me a couple of hours to put them on. You can go with Borla or Corsa but keep in mind that they will be louder. If you want VERY LOUD then you can consider BB Bullets or Borla Stingers. But, be very careful. They are not for the faint of heart.

Look in the C5 Parts section in the Forum. Used sets come up often.

Here's a link to a set that's being currently offered:
