Hey there levettegrl.....
congrats.... you have just experienced the the "CAGS ZONE" yes, that all too mysterious place that confuses us all.... :jester but really now. if you keep the RPMs up above 2k it will let you shift to second, you know, like agressive driving...... It's chevy's way to keep the fuel economy up.. you could go from 1st to 3rd??? :smash: :smash: but even esier would be to go to CAU and get the CAGS unit for the group price of a mere $18 and never have the problem again........
ok? my .02 :yesnod:  :yesnod:  :smash: :smash:
Hey thanks I am loving my C5, I feel bad for the '72 now, but hey what can I say??? ha ha.
I drove the 2000 yesterday and tried to be more aggressive and it WORKED! Imagine that. Then I had to move the '72 out of the garage last night and was like, geez this clutch is HARD! haha. Boy, they sure did improve the vette in 30 yrs!
I know the feeling - I sold my 68 last year to get my coupe. In the past 9 months, I've had to skip-shift only two or three times. Basically, I make it a habit to shift at 2100 rpm or higher. The engine never lugs (I hate lugging) and I very seldom have to skip-shift.
Levette Girl when you order your CAGS make sure you tell them you
are from West Virginia because yall get a special part because the C5s
burn a differrent type of coal over there. :jester :jester :jester :jester
