I haven't found this issue yet so i thought I would post. Both of my plastic gears have gone out on my headlights at different times and have been replaced with brass gears. Completed.
Now a new issue has developed, at night, once in a while my right headlight will not come up. I own a 1998 Corvette with 135K miles. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Not sure if its the exact same, but I just had a similar occurance on my 02 ZO6 but it was both headlamps not wanting to go up sometimes and they replaced some headlight contol module(I think thats what it was called Ill double check though) At the dealership part was 380 after all was said and done 700 bucks Hopefully this isnt the same problem... Cant help but think I got taken for a ride when ever I go to a stealership Good Luck
i have the exact same problem. I think it's because the brass gear isn't seated right, I was going to take apart the motor, and re seal the plastic housing to make sure nothing is binding.
This morning I did notice that when it didnt come up that the lights on the gages came up slowly. Once it was fully on I turned off the lights and turned them back on and it worked.
What I'll do now it put the parking lamps on so the gage lamps come on fully then put the lights on.
