If its dieing that bad, I would believe that if it were a sensor causing the issue, you would see a DTC. What DTCs are you seeing. Once it happens, check the DTCs immediately before shutting the engine down. Some DTCs clear them selves upon cycling the ignition.

I can not believe that every coil is bad. Your coils could not cause a complete SHUT DOWN. You would feel a bad miss or the engine would just run poorly.

The three grounds that you need to examine are G-104/108, G-106 and G-107

Bill,

Thanks for the ground map and advice, especially about checking the codes.

I think this is a great site - http://www.gearchatter.com/

I'm chasing down some codes on my Jaguar XK8 and the detailed explanation exactly of how codes are tripped and saved and overwritten is very informative. It's amazing how much is really going on in terms of fuel management! My confidence grows with understanding.

All I can do right now is wait for the event to happen again and grab whatever codes, if any, pop up.

I found G-104/108 but can't see G-106 and G-107 on the graphic, can you describe where they are?

G106 is above the starter. G107 is on(and behind) the drivers head.
