i have the 222 228 115 cam, and some 243's with a ls6 intake just need to get the rest of the supporting mods. Im just wondering what kind of power the cam is capable of because i havnt' seen to many people with it. which makes me think its a tiny cam and i should go a bit larger.

Hard to tell. Are the 243's ported? Will you be match porting the intake manifold if they are? What size valves? Are the heads shaved to bump compression? Is your TB ported? Your power potential could vary by 30 hp depending on these variables. Otherwise I'd say 400whp if just stock ls6 heads.

yeah head are stock not ported i thought about having them ported but dont know of any reputable shops around here or what the cost is, same goes for the intake. i do plan on maybe going with a blower one day but hey if this gets me to 400 great. im just wanting to do it right the first time and enjoy it not keep taking it apart to fix something i forgot.

Probably more like 30-35hp unless you are doing other mods with the cam.

Unlikely your 1999 will make 430rwhp Justin - not with your LS1 241 casting heads. On a C5 Z06, yes - on a LS1, highly unlikely without cutouts (like Mojo1) or other mods (FAST intake etc.)

I would guess your 1999 with the LS6 intake will make in the 420rwhp range with the Whiplash II - that is what we have been seeing consistently with the LS1 Vettes. Look in our ongoing cam thread in C5 General for dozens of dyno charts & driveability comments from customers.

A 99 would have come with 853 heads.

241s were found on 2001/newer LS1s.

Not much difference between them though.

That power range is perfectly fine with me. I just meant in general that is the power range I would like to be. I would have to do more things to the car to it to get there and I am not money capable at the moment. I will be more than satistfied to be in the 415-420 range with the Whiplash II and the famous EG tune. Hmmmm I can almost taste it

You will need new springs with any cam.

Decent cam only numbers, but just a FYI for the OP....Adding my TF custom heads, and using a smaller cam than this, I had almost 60 more RWTQ than these numbers. HP is great, but TQ is really noticable.
