Clutch issues, Need Help!
Hey guys, I finally got my project car running today for the first time. It is a '99 nassau blue frc with a complete Z06 conversion. I installed a textralia OZ 700 clutch along with new slave, throwout bearing and pilot bearing. The problem I am having is that I cannot get the car to go into gear while running. It shifts perfectly fine when the car is not running. What could be the issue? TIA

Does the clutch release when the pedal is pressed?

All I know is I do have a pedal and that when I mash the pedal it does come back. This is all new to me,lol so bear with me. How do you tell if the clutch releases when the pedal is pressed?
Start it in gear with the clutch fully depressed,,rev the engine. If the car moves,,,,you DO NOT have a fully released clutch.
Use a 10" long feeler gage and have someone depress the clutch and see if you can insert the 0.035" feeler between the flywheel and disk or pressure plate and disk.
If you're lucky, it's possible that you've still got some air in the hydraulics.
If you installed a remote bleeder, just bleed the clutch a few more times to get the air out.
If you Didn't install a remote bleeder, you still need to bleed it some more, but it's not as easy.(try bleeding before anything else,it's the only fix that's not going to cost you)
If you're NOT lucky, you may need to shim the slave cylinder, because it's not "pushing" the pressure plate fingers quite far enough to let go of the disk.
A Tick adjustable master cylinder will give the slave a bit more travel, but it will also increase the effort required to push the pedal, and it is kinda pricey.
A fubared pilot bearing will also cause the same symptom-it tends to keep the propshaft spinning as the end of it gets ground up by the pieces of the exploded bearing-but you'll usually hear this as sort of a metallic "moan" when the motor's running, pedal is depressed, car is stopped, and tranny is in any gear but neutral

Found out the problem, guys! The system still had air in the lines. Re-bled the clutch and all seems to be well. I guess I lucked out. Thanks goodness! I totally redone this car and the only problems so far is I have a water pump leaking around one of the stamped hose connections. The water pump is faulty, and it was a new pump. The other problem is the handbrake lever is stuck. Other than that all seems to be well.

Lol Tony! I do have a remote bleeder and glad I went with one. A remote bleeder needs to be a necessity on all clutch installs. Thanks guys for all the help!
