3.73 Install
Thinking about changing out the 3.42 with the 3.73 ring and pinion. Was wondering...
1. What do you think the install would cost.
2. If I did it myself, how long of a job it would be.
2.a. Do I really want to do this myself?
3. Would it be worth it?
4. Do I need to reprogram?
Any and all input appreciated.

My Chevy dealer quoted me $368 for labor.
2. If I did it myself, how long of a job it would be.
it took me 10 hours to do mine; but I was anti-hurry.
2.a. Do I really want to do this myself?
it isn't all that "technical"; but labor intensive. Also you need a second set of muscles[/i]
3. Would it be worth it?
certainly; but traction issues may be a problem (lack of traction :) )
4. Do I need to reprogram?
with a MN6, no (at least that is what I've read on the forum).

You don't need to reprogram, but your speedometer will be off unless you do something like HPP3 or some reprogramming.
