98 voltage
After clearing the codes, none came back. Over the last 18 months ive had it happen 3 times. Each time reduced power ... after the car idles down and comes to a stop .. Then dies.
1st time i replaced... the original battery ... corroded lugs bad .. but still tested good (imagine that).
2cond ...maybe a 9-10 months later during the floods .. i was driving home while we got 14 inches of rain... Guessed something got wet as i pulled home.
3rd time ...3 months.. completely dry no problems. filled it up with gas .. pulled out .. in traffic somewhat .. 2cond gear about 3.5k it studdered like maybe i hit T/C. but i didnt notice DIC light up.
odd i thought ... 45 minutes later after a long cruise on the hiway at 65-75 ... exit ramp .. right turn ... 2cond gear again ... sputter .. swear a backfire.. nasty smell .. DIC all nuts ... idles down and dies .. immediately restart with no problems.. pulled the codes .. all over the place .. cleared em to see if anything comes back .. periodically checking to see if anything fires even with no problems. about 150 miles so far no issues.
Now im a bit more concerned and going through things methodically.
I noticed the voltage (compared to the 2002 truck and 2001 WS6) was lower I think 13.7 (never under13.3 i think) was the highest ive seen on the vette even when cold... Both the truck and the car are over 14.. gauge and digital.
Checked both grounds behind the lights, the one just under the battery, and driver strap. Even the typically horrible ones behind the lights .. were all pretty clean. Checked battery lugs.. clean as well. Daily driver so its not sitting for long periods. I plan on trying to locate the rest of the grounds and make sure they are cleaned up.
Just curious as to what other typically register on volts, while this gremlin is hunted down with a hammer
