Default Help Service Engine soon

Have a 1997 with 53,000 Miles.Get the message on my DIC reset and disappears till I start up the car next time. I have no codes both me and my mechanic checked. Help Help

What do you guages say at the time? Check the code(s) when the CEL comes on.

it is not the check engine light,it is service engine soon where your mileage is,and again no codes

That's why I asked WHAT THE GUAGES SAID at the time. If something like temp gets too high, oil pressure sensor pegs out or fuel guage gets freaky you can get messages that do NOT set codes.

Nothin on the gauges since it happens when i start the car up,I had it stored for the winter and when I started it the message came up again

Probably a weak battery, did you have it on a battery tender for the winter?
