I've read a lot of things about headers, like American Racing's headers fit real well and are the eaisest to install, and LG pros hang down too low and some people say they dont fit right. But I'm going more for sound and proformance results, than how they fit. I have B&B Bullets installed and was wondering what is the best headers to go with the Bullets, I'm leaning towards LG Pros, or streets. I just wanted the advice of people who know more about it than i do, so any feedback would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Mike
I have two vettes, 01-04. I bought the ARH for the 01 two years ago. I liked them so much that i just installed another set of them on my 04 about a month ago. Go to youtube.com and punch in american racing headers corsa indys. I will be the first video. This would be the 2001.
Never heard of the LG's not fitting correctly. As for too low, not sure how much lower (if any) there are from any other header. I currently am running QTP's (only stainless Tri-Y made for the C5) and am swapping to the LG Pro's shortly to get the 3" pipe and CATs. I think the 3" pipes and CAT's help a lot with the overall system performance so if you have a basically stock car my vote would be for the LG Pro's.
Check out the XSPower headers coming out in the next month here. Fitment has been awesome, install very simple, and clearance is NOT an issue.... My car is completely slammed on coilovers and never scraped once.... I live in MI Also beats the vette tax! Worth a look http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...t-of-june.html
Take a look at Texas Speeds ceramic coated header. They seem identical to ARH. Only thing is theyre not stainless steel but the headers and xpipe were about $750.. a bargain. Theyre 32in long and make good power.
My LG's do not hang very low, I am stock height, though. I have not scraped anything. I could see that if you were lowered and not careful going over certain things, then it would scrape.
The improvement in performance and sound you get from headers is incredible. Very good bang for the buck.
I have had no issues with the LG Streets I had installed almost 3 years ago..Quality construction, fittment and even passed emissions testing with the hi-flow cats...Are the LG's better than brands? Most of us really can't answer that, but there is plenty of technical data available for headers. It also depends on your budget, as there are both cheaper and more expensive headers out there. my 2 cents..
