Default Battery power leak

Has any one hooked up an amp meter to the car battery when off to see the amount of power drainage.

A few weeks ago I was away on a business trip and left my car in the garage. After 2.5 weeks without running the battery was drained. Its a relatively new Optima redtop, 5-6 months old at most.

I know these cars have tons of electronics and I have two security systems installed but 2-3 weeks seems rather quick for a relatively new battery to die.

I hooked up the meter and off it was reading 0.46 amps pretty constant and stable. It started off at 1.6 amps but after a few seconds it dropped to 0.46 and held there. The 1.6 amps must have been some electronics booting up.

Is 0.46 amps too much? What kind of drainage do you guys get? I tested my dads 2004 Tundra and it read 0.02 amps but clearly those trucks don't have as many electronics and it doesn't have a security system.

awesome thanks!

Going to do it again and wait a bit longer till everything goes to sleep mode. If that still doesn't solve then I am going to start poping fuses till I see it drop.

One of the common drains is a bad power seat switch. Worth checking those first.
