Ive heard that a loud pop in the exhaust (misfire) ever now and then is normal with a big cam. My car pops a lot for some reason and only since the cam install. The car is running rich and has a very good tune. Just wondering if anyone else has had this ptoblem and what can i do to fix it.
Data Log the engine and see what LTFT are. Check the O2 Sensor information to make sure that thee switching and working correctly. Look at manifold vacuum and make sure you don't have a leak.
If its backfiring then some thing wrong but if is poping and such when you let of the gas that is normal, depending on your set up. I believe it can be tuned out to a cerian extent, I ask England if he could tune some more in, I guess I am the wierd.
Either way ENGLANDGREEN will for sure take care of you.
All engines pop a lot, it's just that the (factory) exhaust muffles most/all of it. Freeing up the exhaust makes it a lot more audible. Camming it will make a huge increase in popping too. It should only be on deceleration though.
I've found that replacing my H-pipe with an X-pipe helped reduce it a lot too.
