OK go ahead and yell at me if this is a beat to death Thread!
I did search but never really found anything, It's time to but some new rubber on the C5 what have you folks found is the best tire to go with? Don't mind spending the $1300+ for the Goodyears run flats but if another tire out these is better I'd sure like to hear about it
Get this. When I bought my 2001 it had two worn out Michelin sport plus on the front and a worn out Michelin run flat on the left rear and a fairly new Proxes T4 on the right rear!
I ended up putting Goodyear F1 GSD3's on and it was like a new car. They are the stickiest tires I have ever seen. Not recommended for cold weather but who drives their vet in the snow anyway? P.S. They are not the run flats!

Guess you don't search very well then-this has been dozens of times.
Like C54ever, I have Goodyear GSD3s and they are the best tires I've ever had, bar none. They were the winner of another Car & Driver tire test, a few years ago but someone posted that Goodyear is discontinuing them. I sure hope the next generation is in the works.
I don't agree. Too much money for the tire. You can get 80 to 95% of the PS2 performance for around 30% to 60% of the money.
I'm running Bridgestone RE-11''s and I like them so far. I have 19" rims though so my choices are more limited. I have stock rims too and they came with Kumho's and when I had them on I though they were pretty good too. Actually they seemed to stick pretty good.
I have PS2's and like them alot. I switched out my Goodyear run flats with about 1000 miles on them and the difference was big. Much less tire noise, better dry and wet traction/control and improved ride, all subjective but my still my opinion. I liked them well enough that when I bought my CCW wheels I had CCW put PS2's on.
All that being said, for the cost I don't know if I would get them again, but I drive the car so little who knows when I'll need new tires.
Check Tire Rack. You can compare tires against each other. I noticed one day that they also list tire weight in the comparison. So unsprung weight reduction helps performance no matter how small the weight. Personally I use the Michelin Pilot Sport AS ZP...........It is a run flat ran long for the tires that I've had on the car. Those were only about 1 lb heavier than the non-runflats that I compared to at the time. I notice the new Plus is supposed to be the same tire with higher mileage expectation. The best wet tire I ever had on the car was the Firestone firehawk runflat. But they were too expensive. I really didn't like how they looked as well either.............Oh Yeah when I first installed the Michelins on my car and had it aligned I went on Tail Of the Dragon US 129 in the North Carolina Tenn. Mountains Motor Cycles were pulling over to let me by.......Not the sport bikes mind you. When I used to ride bikes I'd never have pulled over for any car. They simply wouldn't have been able to keep up in the mountains.....Devil Dog that is what the vet calls him because he has some real attitude actually got queazy. He only weighs 6.5 lbs. I didn't tell the Vet that is what the Germans called the US Marines in WWII. I'm so proud of that Dog.

I've been running Goodyear F1 UltraPerformance All seasons. I mainly Travel with the Vette but have driven twisties at at high rate of spirit (as I would have ridden them on my Ducati) and experienced no incidents but a lot of confidence in these tires even in the wet. I don't race so Ican't speak to that end. But they're pretty quiet and I'm getting good wear so far. 10,000 right anwsers can't be wrong. Right?
