Just kidding!! Actually for my intake setup (K&N off-road filter, cut shroud, air screens and sealer) it works fine. The best part is the engine compartment stays very clean, but the worst part is that the sealer I had to reapply three times in the past 6 months. The tape gets weathered and wares off.
I just installed one. Don't think it added any power if that is what you are asking, but the lines look cleaner and the dust level should be kept down under the hood. For those reasons, I think it was worth the $$$.
Mostly, I was just wondering if it does the job of keeping stuff out.
But since Untouchable00 says it increases RWHP, I definitely have to get it! I wonder if they make one with a Type-R sticker on it....or neon embedded in it :jester
I got one for the Corvette Accessories Unlimited vendor ($12). Very well made...double sided tape seems pretty strong. :D
My car is a daily driver, rain or shine. During the first downpour I drove it in I was amazed at how much water collects on the contoured hood. I got it mainly to protect against water getting into the engine compartment. It definitely seals the leading edge and the finished appearancel looks good.
Keeps the Donaldson dry and keeps the engine compartment clean. I purchased the factory "side" seals that are on each fender. Just cut to length (as it is slightly too long) and install :)
The hood seal does a great job of keeping the engine compartment cleaner. That was the only reason I bought mine. It now takes 2,000 miles to get the engine as dirty as it did, in only 500 miles. It is worth the $15.00.
I got one of the side hood seals from chevy and put it on the front. It needs a a 1/2 inch or so trimmed off. It keeps the water off the air cleaner just fine.
