I need 18x11 rear rims to accomodate a wider tire. My stock 18x9.5 do not hook up. I spin all thru first and second, and the tires bark loud on shifting from 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4. When I get my nitrous kit installed, I can only imagine the problem getting worse. 18x11 rims could fit some 315's. 18x10.5's can only fit 305's which are hard to find. At the track, I run 18x11 forgeline's with 335's, but they are really too wide for the rim for daily use. Even with the 335's, I still spin all thru first and bark them hard during shifting.
Forgeline can widen their wheels. I've talked to Mark at Forgeline about changing offsets and widths on my Forgelines. Great company :yesnod: The wider wheel with the 335s should improve grip. I noticed a big gain when I swapped 315s from a 17x9.5 to 17x11s. 345/30 18 is as big as street tires go. But that would need at least a mini tub. You might want to look into running some street legal Hoosiers on the street. Awesome grip but not good in the rain.
I am running the ForgeLine RS 18x11 rims. I bought them used on this forum...brand new they go for 1100+ per rim. My cheap set has some scuff marks and scratches, but they are pretty enough for the track. http://www.forgeline.com/wheels/rs.html
I don't need to get these widened since they are already 18x11.
I would love to get some 18x11 or 18x11.5 chrome repro's so I could use them for daily driving and the track, but I haven't found a manufacturer that's makes these sizes, yet.
$1100 is the price on Forgeline's page. I think LG Motorsports has them for $800. I paid less than $800 each for 18x9.5,18x11 LS new. Call LG http://www.lgmotorsports.com/ or some of the other Forgeline dealers and you might get the fronts for much less.
