Default C6 Z51 shocks

C6 Z51 shocks....

Are these a good option to use on a C5? Mine is mostly a stock setup. Only mod on the suspension are Z06 sway bars and metal end links. I may have an opportunity to puchase a low milage set.

Do the C6 Z06 shocks ride harder than the stock C5 Z06 shocks?

The C6 Z06 shocks would certainly be better than the Z51. You won't see as much of a difference unless you go with the Z06. Many cannot tell the difference between the 04 C5 Z06 shocks and the C6 Z06 shocks so it is best to go to the C6 Z06 shocks for the price.

I can't say as I have no basis for comparison in that regard. What I can say is I am very happy with my setup.

I purchased the C6ZO6 shocks from Gene for my 02 ZO6. They made a tremendous difference in the way the car handles emergent and high speed maneuvers. It has much better wheel control. My Z use to want to bounce off the road on high speed sweeping on ramps. Felt like the rear tires were not staying on the road and the car was going to slide off the turn if the road had the slightest irregularities.

The new shocks eliminated that completely! Very happy with them and there a 100% OEM bolt on MOD.

As for daily driving,,,,, there not much difference in the OEM ZO6 shock feel and the C6 ZO6 shock feel. Just a slight bit more firmness. For $60 a shock,,,,, you can not beat the price.

I installed a set of C6 Z51 shocks on my '02 C5, a world of diff! I also threw on a set of C6 Z51 sway bars... as good as a C5 rides and handles to begin with, it's now that much better...

I just put Bilstein sports and love them mine is lowered on stock bolts and the ride is much, much, better with the Bilsteins mine is a Z51 so it does have stiffer springs as well.

I have the same setup on my 00 coupe and am really happy. I got a smoking price on a set of C6 Z51 shocks and love the ride and handling (to go with my C6 Z51 sways and metal end links). for the price I paid, this was a complete no brainer. good luck with your choice.

I just installed c6 Z51 shocks on my 01 and it did make a difference. Of course my car has 115k so the old ones were worn out but it does handle better.

I did c6z06 shocks and c6z51 sways. Car had 90k and 10 years on it and the difference was amazing. The car was floating all over the place before the swap. I got them at.... gm parts house..
