Default gas gage

Hey Guys, I'm new here and just bought a 2000 C5 coupe. The fuel gauge will work one day and stop working another day. I know it has a half a tank in it. Can you guys help.

Welcome to the forum. Try doing a search on Chevron Techron. It is a fuel treatment recommended by GM and it can correct the fuel gauge issue.

A very common problem with both the C5 and C6. Sulphur buildup on the fuel send/reader causes it to fail. Many have corrected the problem by adding Techron to their next couple of fill-ups and a regular regimen every few months to avoid a reoccurence.

Try and run a bottle of Techron through it on the next couple of fill ups.

Hi!
Had the same problem for years. The dealer replace 2 sending units in the tanks and I put one set in myself (still had the problem). One day the fuel pump went out, replace it and the gas gauge started working.

Make sure it is Techron PLUS... Auto Zone currently has it 2 for price of 1.
