My 2000 has always run smoothly. Yesterday while cruising at about 70 mph and 1800rpm I noticed a slight feeling that at first I thought was hesitation. But as I looked at the tach I was increasing 100 rpm then back down a hundred. This would happen about every 3 minutes. I slowed to 65 mph and it still happened. Transmission fluid temp was normal. I wonder if the overdrive was kicking in and out? Car has about 113000 miles on it. Transmission was serviced (flushed) at 103000 miles. Automatic. Thoughts?
This the torque converter clutch engaging and disengaging slightly. PWM will do this but not to this degree. You could add the TransGo Isolator valve (PWM eliminator valve). This would fix this and requires the valve body to be dropped and one hole in the separator plate to be drilled out slightly bigger. The valve comes in all of TransGo's Shift kits also. This fix works very well. Dana
