The AC on my 2001 is very cold and full of freon; however, the blower doesn't blow the air into the car as hard as it should. I've figured out the blower motor location is under the dash on the passenger side. I'm needing help as to what I need to take apart to get to it and check it out. Where do I start?? Thanks!!! Jane
Make SURE that when you change the vent position, the air actually comes out of that vent and no where else. Like Memphis Vette stated, the vents are vacuum operated and if you have lost vacuum, the air will flow out all of the vents cause the damper doors fail to a half way position.
I didn't even think about that. The air flow out the vents is coming from everywhere at the same time. It doesn't blow air strongly no matter what I set it to. There is no odor, so I'm not thinking there's a nest in there from a mouse or anything, I guess there still could be, but now I'm wondering if it's something other than the blower moter. Any advice or direction would be helpful. I'm not afraid to dig into it, I just need to know where to dig.

Disintegrated vacuum line probably under the battery

Had similar problem. If no vacuum at purple connector coming thru firewall to HVAC connector its the vacuum line eaten away from battery acid. My check valve inside right front fender was shot too.
Many posts on here including mine on how to fix. Use rubber hose to replace deteriorated pieces. Check valve about $3.50 in HELP section of Advance or Pep Boys and same valve about $6.00 at dealer. Flush entire area under battery with baking soda and water and hose off.BIGHANK
Thanks BigHank! I spoke with my Dad this morning about it as well. He owned a Shell station for 23 years and has a '63 split window and '09. He gave me the same advice you did. I need to check the vacuum line. Hopefully that will be it and I won't have too much trouble getting to it to replace/repair it. Jane
The vacuum supply line is in the middle of a cable going towards the engine after removing the battery tray. The line going thru the firewall to the purple connector is in the middle of the cable going thru the firewall. I had to remove the friction tape from the cable going toward the engine for about a foot to finally locate the disintegrated hard line.
Hope yours isn't as deteriorated as mine was.
PS put some info into your profile so responders can be more helpful.
Mine is blowing all vents also. Started when I replaced my battery and at the same time while the battery was out, I cleaned the passenger side udder for the first time. I'll bet I broke or disconnected a vacuum line when I was squeezing that long sucker. Looks like I'll have to get back there again and look what I did. I'lll let you all know, hopefully I can get to it this weekend.
I just replaced the blower motor and resistor on my Honda. Cost about 80 bucks. If you need parts I suggest you contact Gene Culley at GM Parts House - forum vendor.
It wasn't hard, but somewhat tight quarters.
I had to remove the glove box, passenger kick plate, side trim and ABS controller.
Not sure if the Vette has a similar configuration, but in my Honda fan speeds from 1-4 worked off 1 circuit tied to the resistor, but 5 would bypass this via a relay. Therefore, 1-4 didn't work and 5 would.
Took out the battery and tray and went back to the udder and felt around to the vacuum tree. It all felt like there was nothing disconnected but I'm pretty sure some thing is from when I milked the udder. I'll have to look from underneath or thru the wheel well panel to see if I can find it, another day
