I was out yesterday and when I went to start the car, all the lights on the dash stayed on and the following flashed across the DIC (I can't remember the exact order)...
Service engine soon
Reduced engine power
Shocks inoperative
Sevice tire monitor
and one other one
The car idled real rough. I shut it down fired it back up with same results. I drove it about 100 feet, parked it and shut it down. I waited about five minutes, fired it back up and all was well.
I took it right to the dealer, and of course I could not get it repeat. I drove it the rest of day and last night with no problems.
I'm guessing your car is equiped with the F45 suspension. Possibly a shock sensor showed being out of travel and tire pressure sensor was below 5psi at the scan point time. Consequently it reset itself after you drove the 100 ft. Of course this is only a guess. :)
Last summer while driving out-of-state on vacation, the DIC on my 1999 C5 began to display all of the messages. The guages began to sweep and all of the dash warning lights illuminated. The chime sounded, my horn sounded, and the hatch repeatedly released. The car eventually stopped running and was immobilized.
The a/c evaporator drain had become clogged, causing water to drip under the dash and into the computer compartment in the passenger footwell. The water shorted out and ruined the computer.
You may want to see if you have water dripping under the right side dash and into the computer compartment.
I also had the infamous leaking Delco battery, and acid dripped onto wiring and another computer below the battery tray. You may want to check for a leaky battery. The factory insulator sleeve on my battery concealed the leak until I pulled it back (after I saw acid on the garage floor).
Thanks for your help everyone. I checked the interior for any moisture (none), and I looke all around the battery compartment and there was no signs of corrosion. I went in to the computer and pulled codes. Besdie the usual 1016, 1000, 1255, 1096, 1064 loss of communication codes the following were tripped...
Judging buy your "Born" date, you most likely have an AGM battery; if so leakage is not an issue. As far as codes, I would think that a factory service manual would allow you to decipher the codes.
