Default converting to electronic climate control

ok so in my 99 FRC it has the manual climate control with the three *****, i have been in a few c5s with the electronic climate control and i prefer that system i was wondering what it would take to convert to that system. i know it sounds stupid and probably a waist but i was wondering how much work it would be to switch it, can i just replace the control unit or is there more involved? i can do the work my self I'm pretty experienced on rebuilding cars and even got my certificate as an auto repair technician. so I'm just wondering what parts would be needed. thanks

Bud,,,,thats a project that just aint going to happen. At least not witout getting a complete doner C5 and gutting yours. There is a SIGNIFICANT difference in the HVAC air box and electronics that requires practily gutting your dash and installing ALL different stuff. I imagine its doable but,,,not without major anguish and lots of new parts.

What you have is the more reliable system anyway.

yeah the main reason i was thinking of switching is because when my girl rides with me gets cold and i feel bad an lower air but it get hot lol after being in the desert in iraq for a year i like it nice and chilly lol so i figured if i could use the other system it would eliminate the problem lol, kinda a stupid reason but i love driving my vett rather then taking her car lol and a few other ppl i ride with have said the same thing i guess its cuz the vents blow directly at em and even when u close em the air still blows out oh well guess we will just take turns lol

Bud,,,THANKS FOR SERVING! My son was over there also.

I figured being acclimated to 120-130 degree heat with full armor, you would be freezing when its 80 outside.

I fix Submarines in Dubai and it gets 110-120 there a LOT in the summer. I went there in their winter. It was 70- 75 deg outside. The locals were wearing COATS!
