Default questions, without the cats...

I am putting an x-pipe on this Thursday, and I am planning on using a die-grinder to cut the cats open, gut them, and then weld them back up. I know I need the O2 simulators, but I don't have them yet and will not get them by Thursday. I think I will get some computer codes, but will my car run like this for a week or two, until I can get them and put them on. Also, can I just throw the insides into the trash, or must I take it somewhere to be disposed of? Thanks in advance. Jake
PS - no emmissions in SC so I am not much worried about that.

I think it will run fine, but don't quote me. You shoudl consider just cutting the cats off and replacing with straight pipe, as someday, you or someone else, will want to put them back on. A replacement H-pipe with cats is close to $1000.

I have no ethical problems with what you are doing, but "gutting" the cats is not the best way to go.

dont really have access to any pipe. do you think any ol' muffler shop could do that? i think it would have to be bent slightly also. would it need to be stainless?
