Default FYI: C5 Ignition switch part number

I know a lot of people are disassembling their ignition switches and cleaning them up (thanks Bill Curlee!). However, some people would rather just replace the switch, especially if it feels really sloppy or you're having continual problems.

I searched around and couldn't find the part number. I used an exploded parts diagram and finally found the switch (it was in a really odd part of the catalog). It's listed as part number 10246848. However, if you try to buy this part #, it doesn't exist.

Turns out, it's been superseded by part #10308321. This is the correct part for the C5 ignition switch. Give it a try if you want to buy a new one.

Figured I'd put this here in case anyone else was ever looking for a part #. Should show up in the search nicely FYI, most places have it $60-70ish.

I discussed the change in part numbers with Gene and he stated that he does not know if there was any improvement or up-grades to the new part number switch. Looks like they just changed the number.
