Quick Question. Help.

To remove the shift cable from the shifter, it can only be accessed by removing the center console, right or no?

Oh. I don't know about an A4 car. But I would assume yes. It's very easy to remove the console.

Just learned yesterday that if you remove the tunnel plate you can access the shifter and shifter cable from under car. No need to remove center console.

Holy Crap isn't it just easier to remove the console....I can have my console out before I can have the car on jack stands...

You have to remove the tunnel to replace the cable regardless, no way around it so why dirty or even mess with the interior. This is to replace the cable, not to replace or work on shifter itself.
