I hear some bad noise coming from my 2000 conv dash... Sounds like bad conection or something. Having clean the grounds connectors have solved most of my electronic problmes excepts that one. Please help.

Does it sound like its coming from the "dinger" that dings when you start the car? If so, im having the same problem and as soon as i get some time im going to dig into it further, for the time being, i disconnected the speaker behind the cluster.

Thanks for the answer. I think we have the same problem. It sounds louder when I open the door and start the car. After the sound stays softer but repetedly. It's like a tic, tic, tic, etc.
Can you tell me how to disconnect the speaker behind the cluster? I'll let you know if my mecanician find something.

Use these instructions for removing the gauge cluster: http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...zel_howto.html then remove the power pack from the back of the clusters and the screws that hold the back panel and you will see the connection to the speaker.

Heres a post that explains IPS disassembly.

- C5 Gage Cluster disassembly - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...post1570380674

NOTE! HVAC damper actuators can make weird noises when they calibrate or attempt to adjust the damper doors. You can pull the HVAC fuse and disable the actuators and try to eliminate that as a possibility of being the noise.

Thanks Bill, I'll try to find the # of the HVAC fuse.
