I haven't had cat's on my vette in 4/5 years. It is great and I think the consensus is generally about a 5hp gain over cats.

My car doesn't stink at all, but that is probably because I don't have a pig rich tune.

I love not having cats, and probably won't ever put them on. Haven't had a problem passing emissions in NY or TX.

Lol i think your nose is numb to it. Its usually obvious when your behind a car w/o cats. But if yours is tuned as well as you say

Why would one be concerned with how the car smells from behind. I know Mustang drivers have to deal with it, but that's their problem

My intentions were to take the hot air out of our friend "theusa". He needs to slow himself down, resist the urge to personally attack others, and possibly learn a little more about his proffession of choice and the impact his role has on the environment before he points fingers.

Whether you "don't mind the smell" is irrelevant. Hydrocarbon emissions, carbon monoxide and nitrous oxides are pouring out your exhaust.

Aren't you a pilot? I drive my car 20 times a year on weekends yet you fly a plane for a living. Interesting point of view my friend.

You know what they say about people in glass houses....

My cats were hollowed out when the substrate inside started breaking up... I drove that for 2 months with Borla Stingers... Sounds incredible - and I don't mind the smell of raw fuel - but.. I can't say for sure it's any faster... I do drive my neighbors nuts. and the Check Engine Light - makes me crazy.

Stick with cats - or tune it properly so it doesn't stink.

My brand new cats are going on today

I am not going to bother reading all the responses But... I have pretty much the exact setup.. Corsa Pace Car with Xpipe..

I gutted my cats about 6 years ago despite being talked out of it..Tree huggers came out in force. My car is not a daily driver so the tree hugger thing rubbed me the wrong way.. All I wanted to do it to make a throatier sound.. Well I fif it anyway and it sounded awesome...

BUT SMELLS LIKE SHEIT! With my convertible in the summer, I cannot take a 10 mile trip without coming home smelling like I was sitting in front of the exhaust pipe..

I plan to put the Cats back very soon...Because of me.. not mother earth..

Wouldn't hollowed out cats create turbulance and hinder flow?

A proper way to remove the cats would be to install exhaust pipe or just buy the Magnaflow off-road pipe?

What catback is that?

I am curious how this would sound with a factory Ti catback, x-pipe and stock manifolds.
