Default c5 column lock.........again !

Please indulge me . After reading most of the comments on this topic still not clear on latest fix. Am I correct that on 97 c5, which has not been fixed, the complete fix is accomplished by removing the column lock plate. GM bulletin states repair will only take 50 minutes and column will no longer lock which is fine by me.
Thanks

Depends on if you've had any previous recalls done. With the lock plate removed, the system will still shut down your car "pull key, wait 10 seconds". If a recall has been done (1 of 3) then you may have the K harness installed which is a form of Column Lock Bypass, only a crappy one. Buy a CLB from Corvettes of Houston and replace the K Harness with it.

oh, and btw- you're in the wrong forum
