Any issue with the smell? Im about to install some longtubes and a non catted xpipe on my vette.
Its too late to change my mind, so i might as well just deal with it regardless of the answer! haha
This is my 2nd C5 that I have removed the cats from, the 1st was the oem cats and this one had the random tech high flows and I do not know what smell the others are talking about??? I drive with my windows down 90% of the time.
The 1st vette was stock until I had the long tubes, cat delete, x-pipe, and tune done.....the current coupe is a stroker with long tubes etc. etc. we(the tuner and I) removed the cats chasing some missing rwhp.....I like them loud, tuned, and breathing in & out freely.
Well thankfully there are no emissions testing in Florida.
And saying it's against the law is funny, in most states it's illegal to modify your exhaust system in any way shape or form. As well as 90 percent of our other mods. It's all about if they are enforced!

I've never had cats on any of my cars and I have never been pulled over for it. Going on 10 years!
I don't exactly think that (cheers!) are in order here...
Before anyone flames me, know that I'm not going to go hug a tree now. However, I do wish more car enthusiasts would do their part to help reduce pollution. Sacrificing our environment and the future health of our children for a one or two horsepower gain on an already stupidly fast car is just plain selfish.

Bought the car without cats. Had faulty front 02 sensors , just replaced. Now rear 02 sensors show no activity. Car has some 02 resistors that "trick" the computer in thinking the rear 02 sensors are there. Apparenlty these resistors are not working since he check light and code comes on every once and a while. I bought the diablo handheld to tune them out but later learned that only a dealer could do it. what are the resistors calleD? where can i find them?

I think they are illegal... You need to find a "friend" in the racing business that uses them in non street legal cars.

Anyone can tune the rear 02's out, not just a dealer.
The word you are looking for is simulators. You can still guy 02 sims new online and they pop up for sale here quite often.
Just find a TUNER that will tune them out for you for a few dollars. A dealer WILL NOT defete any emissions features.

I have RANDOM TECH high flow CATs on my 02 ZO6 heads cam fast 90 engine for 6 years.. They support 450 RWHP,, NO ISSUES at all...

Of course they dont, because they are useless, they are converters in name only. They do nothing to tame the raw exhaust or reduce hydrocarbons. I have them as well and have no reason to believe they are at all effective, and yes they cause no "issues".
