2003 Corvette Ordering Information!

HOW does it benefit the general to fail to take advantage of this opportunity? C5 sales are starting to slow, big discounts are now available. People are thinking about the C6. Here you have an opportunity to Boost the z06's power to 500 bhp which could be accomplished fairly simply as many tuners have shown. PEOPLE WOULD PAY extra for a 50th anniv VIPER killer. What a slap in the face would that be to the upcoming new viper to come out in advance with a lighter, proven design with 500 hp for less money.
Second offer the ls6 engine in the coupe and convertible, at 405 to 450 hp. This would still give the z06 the exclusivity gm seems to want, and hardtops would still sell. Offer an upgraded interior 'option' with higher quality leather and a touch screen dvd based navagation system. It would be easy to have had Kenwood integrate it's unit. THEN give it a special color and badges AND IT WOULD SELL BIG TIME! Anyone agree???????? :D By the way, I am with the rest of you, it will never happen, just some stupid badges and maybe a special color, what a disgrace to such a rich heritage. The Vett always gets sh** on. It makes me sick.... It's just like at the Chicago Auto Show when the damn MOO STANG is up on a rotating platform with a beautiful model and the vetts are on the floor next to cavaliers with not so much as a guy there to wipe off the 10 million finger prints all over the car. GM ARE YOU LISTENING???? FIRE EVERYONE in your marketing department and start from scratch, it is a TOTAL DISGRACE.
Long live the vett despite the failures of the gm marketing team!!!
Long live the vett despite the BEAN COUNTERS who are failing to take advantage of this rare opportunity. I don't care what anyone says about previous anniversary models, a 50th anniversary is special and you only get one chance :(

You are right on the money. Start with the guy who runs this program Dave Hill. I have asked him at Corvettes@Carlisle two years in a row, when is the Corvette going to get more horsepower. His reply was the car has enough power.
It is a shame that these guys don't listen to the people who keep buying Corvettes. They go to all of the major Vette shows and have deaf ears.
To offer only two new colors is a dissgrace. This car needs some exciting new bright colors like hugger orange, bright green, pearl white, or how about that great electric blue that Subaru uses on the WRX.
Well I guess as long as all of us loyal Corvette buyers keep buying year after year nothing will change. Maybe everyone should boycott them for a year or two until they get their head out of their butt and listen to what the people who buy these cars want.
I hope Bob Lutz surfs this forum. He could learn a great deal!!!!!!!!!!!
For the coupe and vert - how about offering the Z06 M12 tranny and the the wheel and tire package from the Z06, but maybe some different - unique wheels. This along with an anniversary paint and interior as is planned, and the new "licensed" Corsa exhaust system.
For the Z06, how about the sport seats in the anniversary colors, and chrome the wheels as standard (or some unique anniversary only wheels - maybe like the HRE or Fikse's).
Everything I have suggested already exists, and with the possible exception of the M12 in the coupe/vert, would require no new emission/CAFE certification. Oh yeah, and go ahead and lower them an inch, and let the guys who don't like that RAISE them back up an inch.
Now, hard hard could this little effort be?

Couldnt that mean that it is standard???
For the F55, I'm really curious and exited, as I see this as a possibly excellent improvement in handling... I'm going to guess that it's like the F45, but using the Z51 as the base setting, instead of the mushy "base suspension" that the F45 uses now, and will dial up to Z06-like firmness levels. Then people would have a good reason to buy the thing.
Let's keep our fingers crossed:D

My suspicion is that they will do away with the "stripper" that the 1SA used to be, and make 1SA what 1SB used to be, and 1SB what 1SC is now...

"The new 50th anniversary edition of the C5 will combine Active handling which will be tied in to the innovative new ride system incorportating MagneRide Shock absorbers. These new Delphi "valveless" shocks will have superior damping and response rates of up to 150 times per second. The quick -acting shocks uise a magneto-rheological fluid and computer controlled coils to provide continuously variable realitime damping.
The benefits are a far better ride on the roughest surfaces, less body roll and faster wheel control for optimum handling.
This will be the extent of the mechanical upgrades for the 50th anniversary model. "
