When I was at the track Friday night I staged the car and tried to bring the RPM's up against the convertor. When I did the engine started miss firing.. So I just left the line off idle and slowly pushed pedal to floor. The pass was clean and there was no miss fire, it felt fine.. I didn't think of it until I got home, but I had the traction control on.. Did the traction control cause this? The wires are new GM red wires and the plugs are new AC Iridium spark plugs..
it could have been your T/C.... if... your wheels were spinning in the staging area...but, for a "misfire situation" (as you say) you might check that new #7 plug wire connection (hardest one to get at) to see that it is properly seated making good continuity...in fact, check'em all !
No wheels were not spining, I was on the starting line, I was staged. It started doing it as soon as I gave it some gas with my foot on the brake, it wasn't even at 1000 RPM's, I would think if it was a plug or a wire it would miss fire under WOT... I just checked the wires and they are all on as far as they will go on both ends..
I just tried to power brake the car with Traction Control on and it does make the engine misfire until the brake pedal is released.. When I turn the Traction Control off and power brake it the engine does not misfire..
