I'm going to be swapping my stock ls6 lifters for ls7 lifters because one or more is definitely broken. I'm not quite sure exactly what I need to replace other than the lifters when I do this. Can someone recommend things to be replaced such as head gaskets or head bolts. I'm not sure if it's a necessity to replace these
To replace the lifters you must replace your head gaskets and head bolts. Since you are in there you might as well replace the lifter trays.
How do you know you have a broken lifter?
I'm not 100% sure but i checked my valve springs and rockers and they looked fine. A local shop who has corvette experience told me that they were positive it was a broken lifter. I have another thread floating on the tech page about a random misfire which is due to this noise that appeared right when the loud ticking did
Depending on what's "broken" on the lifter(s) you might end up purchasing a new cam too.
Do yourself a favor and get a set of ARP head studs & thread chaser while you're at it. Clean the bolt holes out, put the studs in, and never worry about them again.

Unless its a daily driver, I would disassemble and inspect before buying too many parts. If a lifter is "broken" chances are there are other issues within the block and the question would be can the engine be saved.
Just out of curiosity, if this is a stock motor have you checked for bent pushrods?

I just finished dealing with a broken lifter. We salvaged the valve covers, pan, and end plates.
If you have a broken lifter most likely you will need a cam too. As vettenuts suggested, you need to check push rods first. These are items that can be accessed by pulling the valve covers only.
Check the coils and spark plug wires the very first thing. I had a customer come in that swore his engine had a bad spring, rocker or lifter because of the tick-tick noise. I found that the spark plug wire at the coil pack was not on and the coil was arcing to the plug wire making the noise. Putting the wire back on fixed the miss and the noise.
If you end up with needing lifters, keep in mind that you should not spend extra for "LS7" lifters. All LSx use the same lifters now and they are all the same as what the LS7 uses. Just order new lifters and you will have the best without any undue added cost.
I would also suggest you get a service manual before doing any of the work.
Can you link to your High Def vid, I am having a pinging issue and it is driving me nuts. I am thinking about going with 10-30 oil to see if the noise disappears.
