Default Cam install question?

I was just told that the engine needs to be removed to install a new camshaft. I do not think it does, but I really do not know. Experts input please.

And harmonic balancer (unless you have a split cover) so the power steering rack has to be moved to the side.

I'm having a New cam installed right now by Finish Line Performance. And the others are correct. Your engine stays put, but the Air Cleaner, Air Bridge, Radiator and Harmonic Balancer need to come out! The power Steer Rack needs to be loosened and moved to the side. You will need though. New valve Springs, Timing Chain, Retainers, Seals and Pushrods Plus You'll need a new Tune.. Thus why FLP is doing mine.

the only thing that needs to be physically removed out of the car is the airbox and radiator.

the condenser can remain intact- just moved out of the way...as well as the steering rack which needs to be moved out of the way.

I thought it was a difficult job, until I installed a new clutch.

If I may ask, what is the cost for a complete change like that and what kind of HP increase do you expect?
