Sorry to bother u guys just wanted to know if i delete my cats, will my vett be ok, i know ill get the service engine on but im also planning on later on getting a tune n ask to get the o2 sensor tuned out but not till next month getting the tune.
Apart from it smelling like s**t, you shouldn't have any problems. The question you have to ask yourself though is; why? If you think that you will gain considerable HP by doing it, you are mistaken. Unless your car will be strictly used for track, it is also illegal. If you want to remove them because they are shot, then I would recommend getting some good high flow cats instead of deleting them. Just my 2 cents.
Mine are hollowed out and I can tell you that if you start it in the garage you will need to get the hell outta there in about 2 minutes....also people hate following you
I didn't set out to do this they just ended up that way and I haven't bothered to fix it...its a long story

Well, if you remove the cats it'll probably run like crap. Ya know, the LT-1, L88, ZL1, Grand Sport, Z06, etc etc all ran without cats and they were slow smelly pieces of crap.
Seriously though, no car has ever benefited from reduced back-pressure.
Do you really think cars without cats smell worse???????????????? Hairbrained ideas! There is a fair amount of do gooders around that think owning a Corvette is a Hairbrained idea.

Reason: stupid
I ran with out cats for no longer than a couple of weeks. A friend of mine owns a muffler shop and he fabbed up a mid section without cats and an x-pipe. I have stock exhaust manifolds and B&B Bullets. Talk about loud! It's loud enough with the B&B Bullets. Aside from being loud I noticed a small decrease in Torque on the low end, but a minimal gain on the top end. The sound didn't bother me to be quite honest, it was the service engine light that did. My Wife drives the car most of the time so I didn't want her to get in any trouble so I had some cats welded on and no issues. We live in California and I don't want to deal with any smog police.
If you want loud, B&B Bullets are the way to go. Just my $.02
I am very suprised that anyone would think a car without cats smells worse than a car with cats. Cats emit a phosforic smell like rotten eggs. I would bet you got a good wiff of a newer fresh cat set up than a car without cats and you didn't know what it was. They are for emission only. Yes they are engineered in and the car is tuned for them but if you remove them and do the correct mods and tune it will make your car breath better and increse your HP. I am not talking open headers. I mean with a good header / exhaust set up.

I guess you just haven't been around very many modified C5 Corvettes. My car has Random Tech high flow cats and there has never been an odor of any kind from them. If you remove the cats from these cars you get a very strong fuel odor no matter how you tune it. I know this to be true from smelling friends cars who have removed them. Don't take my word for it, simply do a search on this forum and you will find thousands of posts attesting to the fact.
I have never seen any documentation that removing cats increases the engines ability to "breathe". Even the proponents of running catless only claim a 2 HP increase, which is well within the margin of error for a chassis dyno.
Seriously though, why can't anyone give a reason to keep the cats???
I would like to hear. I have an open mind and am not trying to be smart, I would keep my cats (meow lol ) if I could hear a valid reason to keep them. That is, form a performance stand-point, as I could care less about odor or pollution from not having them.
Anyone? What performance advantage do they offer???
