I've done my share of gear pulling. All I can say is that you need a decent variety of pullers and adapters; and you have to make do. Never pull it ad-hoc; you need a solid connection or something will slip and break. Sometimes you have to make up an auxiliary plate and bolt, slide behind, or otherwise connect it to the gear and then pull the plate.

I'm trying to get all I need ahead of time. Since this is not your old run of the mill small block that is still stout in todays performance world. You didn't have to contend with an oil pump drive and pull both. My small puller doesn't appear to be large enough and wanted info on a size so I can be prepared.
