Dont know of any up that way man. I know a few down here. Good luck with the search. Best thing I can tell you it get with some of the other Vettes in your area and see what they can come up with.
00Corvette if you dont like the question move on and get over it. No need to post BS answers.
By the way, if you buy a car in CA, the seller is responsible for smogging the car, not the buyer. This way, if the seller has any issues it is up to him/her to rectify the situation before transferring title.
Many people don't realize this and simply accept the seller's comment that goes something like: "Hey, it's up to you to get the car smogged."

There are techs around that will overlook headers and such and the public forums are the best way to find someone to do it. I bet his PM box already has been answered by someone.
You can always register it in certain counties zip codes that doesnt require smog checks unless a car is bought/sold but no bi-annual check and there are MANY that still dont require it.

I guess you've never used your "private" inbox?
Its cool be a dick.
Shops also have extra oem exhaust they install smog and then replace with headers.
I wasn't expecting a smog shop to get on here and advertise.
I bought the car that way BRO if u have any other smartass remarks you can shove it
It's not the type of thing that someone will probably refer you to in 'private' either w/o knowing you personally.
In the most sincere way possible..I would ask the guy you bought the car from (if you bought it in CA) what he did to get it to pass or where he went.
Either that or get a pair of exhaust manifolds/setup to swap out every 2 years.
They changed the laws/penalties 1/1/10...a lot more severe from what the tech told me.
There are places that it can be done, you also will want a 'test sniff' unless you are already 100 percent sure that your car will pass the actual emissions portion.
Reason for this is if you don't..they can refer you to the 'smog referee', then the headers will be coming off no doubt.
CA is a very crappy state to run a post 1974 high hp vehicle in as i'm sure you're aware.

ANY out skirt county in the state. The 'valley' is where the SMOG requirements are.
I appreciate the help guys, this is what I was looking for from fellow vette owners. So isnt it all of ca that has same smog reg not just counties? Is it possible to register in another home outside of cal?

Pretty sure its all of CA. I still have GA plates. I'm military so I can get aways with it. I think you can get AZ plates for it and not have to live in AZ.

No, that's registration fraud in AZ. It can result in cancellation/seizure of the registration/plate, fines and possibly jail if investigated as criminal fraud.

no, you will get a ticket in california with out of state plates.
There ARE counties in California that NO smog is needed.. Del Norte Co in Northern Calif is one.
The last 4 years I lived in Calif, I had plates other than Calif because I owned property in 3 other states. I was never bothered because the local LEO's all knew my situation. You could just say goodbye to Calif and move to Oregon, where the 2 year registration fee is $75 and NO SMOG check ever. Also NO SALES TAX! We also have cleaner air and water than any county in Calif. OR, you could stay in Calif and enjoy all the upcoming surprises Jerry Brown has in store for you!

My son is living in San Diego, but stationed in Coronado in the Navy. He has Oregon plates on his truck and always will. The beautiful part is, he is a 20 year lifer and still has his home address as Oregon, but having the Military sticker on his truck, eliminates any issues with law enforcement. The only catch with the Military exemption status is, you must have a Calif Smog Cert on the Oregon truck to park on base and get the sticker. His truck passed with flying colors. He came home last month for 10 days and returned with a NEW Harley, bought and registered in OREGON and took it back to San Diego! . NO Sales Tax and Oregon Plates! Yes, there IS a way around the laws in Calif legally

Unfortunately, you pay dearly for living up north:
A total of about 40 inches of rainfall (includes rain, snow, hail, etc.) is Portland's mean annual precipitation. We have four months of very rainy weather, four months of 50-50 rainy days, and four months of very dry weather. Here are the rain numbers:
Fifty-five percent of the rain comes in four months: November, December, January, and February.
Another 32% comes in March, April, May, and October.
In the other four months (June, July, August, and September), Portland receives five inches of rainfall.

Avg. High 45° 51° 56° 60° 67° 74° 78° 80° 74° 64° 52° 45°
Avg. Low 34° 36° 38° 41° 47° 52° 56° 56° 52° 44° 38° 34°

Whereas.....
San Diego average weather by month:
Temperature Rainfall Humidity Sunshine
January 65/48 2.11" 63% 72%
February 66/50 1.43" 66% 72%
March 66/52 1.60" 67% 72%
April 68/55 0.78" 67% 72%
May 69/58 0.24" 70% 59%
June 71/61 0.06" 74% 58%

November 70/54 1.10" 65% 75%
December 66/49 1.36" 64% 73%
I think I'll put up with Jerry Brown if it means I get to drive my C5 in Southern California weather, thank you.
Most smog shops are not cops. They'll do the visual before hooking the car up to the machine. If they spot a visual violation, they'll probably point it out to you to get it rectified and then bring it back. If they don't spot anything then you just need to pass the actual smog check. Good luck.

Yeah I cant get stickers on my Vette because of that. I wont pay $250 for a "SMOG" cert....I just get a temp pass every 2 months.
