Most shops/tuners dont charge much for retunes if you change your setup. You should look through the C5 Parts For Sale section for all of your mods. You will save yourself ALOT of money and end up with the same results. Oh and sorry I thought your car was a Z06 in your avatar. Subtract 30HP from the stock bolt on and cam numbers and youll have your C5/LS1 numbers lol.

Just so you can get and idea. I have full bolt on's and a MS3 cam. My car made 413rwhp and 389rwtq 2001 LS1 MN6. I just added a FAST 92 and will get a retune pretty soon.

Its very simple. There is a DIY for just about everything. Keep an eye out in the for sale section. I might be putting a S/C on soon so the cam and FAST might be up for sale...... Feel free to PM me anytime if you have question.

They do look like crap, but work. I have seen some people do some work on them and make them fit better. If it was me, I would look for a Honker. They fit perfect and perform very very well.

You should know that when you start messing around with engine mods, you'll soon reach a point that the stock clutch won't handle. This is a fairly expensive upgrade, expecially if you pay to have it installed. Anything nearing 400 RWHP will be knocking on new clutch's door. Budget from 1500 to2500 for this little lovely. Another thing; I believe the knock on the VRam's quality is vastly overstated. They aren't a POS like some think, and nobody's CAI can deliver the same performance gain. Lots of them used, too, even though they're pretty cheap. I had to get rid of mine when I supercharged. Try and find a later model, as the company listened to the bitching, and made regular upgrades. Hell, just buy new, they're only about 250.

i was thinking about that yesterday, so for now i think im just going to get headers and intake and (maybe gears after some extensive research) the car itself has 110k miles and the engine has around 35k. so im thinking light until i can get another vehicle and turn this one into a weekend car. should i still get a tune after headers and intake??
nice to hear the intake is good. does an after market air duct make a huge difference?

Default curious about HP gains from twin turbo setupSTS

with out changing to much, I am seeing 7995 installed for a TWIN turbo set up, one says custom tune with new injectors?? really curious about the HP gain, its a stock car, but more is always better as they say??

what would the gain be, is there a trade off in a reliable car I drive mine daily most of the time, love the go peddle probably would love it more with more go peddle??

Let me know your thoughs

thanks

You can get an ez 500 rwhp out of the STS but I got around 650 with 14lbs of boost. That was very fun. I like STS and I saw no trade off in reliability whatsoever.

For the money spent, it is not going to make much of a % difference in straight line performance. Plus it destroys the great balance of power to drivability that a stock Corvette has perfected.

Spend the money on flying lessons.

hmm I picked up 4 tenths in the 1/4(runing 12.59 now) with just a catback and a breathless performance vortex rammer CAI. Your car must be stock.

To the OP:I really like the breathless intake, you can pick one up for $250 which is about half of what the honker costs and does the same thing. I love mine and it looks much better than the vararam and I think I picked up about the same power.
