Check out ELITE ENGINEERING USA. Not all catch cans are the same. I haven't heard of the "drrx", maybe it's for imports?

You might also place a WTB ad in the classified section...

Certainly, not ALL catch cans are created equal.

no filter...it just catches the oil.

They are A few diff setups but I myself would either have a can I can service (element) or on that doesn't have a filter element. I have a friend with a fbody and he uses a eBay unfiltered can and I am supprised by the oil it catches.

If I understand the process, the "filter" is to trap vapors from leaving the catch can and entering the intake anyway. Without a "filter", the can isn't as efficient. The typical metal "filter" mesh is easy to clean...

Default Elite Engineering Catch Can

I have the Elite Engineering Catch Can on my 1997 C5. It was a little expensive but in my opinion it is well worth the money. It is a very quality piece of equipment and very well designed. The top portion of the catch can is filled with a filter medium.

Last edited by bucketlist1957; Nov 30, 2010 at 03:52 PM. Reason: left out the filter part

Unfortunately, even a typical "metal mesh"-type filter will alow oil droplets in the sub-micron-20 micron range escape and slowly but surely coat the intake.

Any catch can that does not have a filter is essentially a liquid oil trap. Lots of airborne oil droplets sail unimpeded to the intake. This is like having an air intake filter with .1-inch holes in it. You'll catch the large stuff but plenty of small stuff will get past the "filter".
