Default Ground pinouts?

Howdy all, can someone point me to the pinout (pin out) of the front grounds? Specifically, the front passenger's side. Can't seem to find specific wire by wire pin outs.

I have a NEVER ENDING problem with a dimming headlight, blinker problem, headlights motors not working, fog lights working sometimes, etc etc etc.

I can fix it by 'jiggling' the wiring near the ground point. And yes, I've taken it apart 6 times, cleaned the contacts, used dielectric grease, etc etc. Now it's time for drastic action- I plan to trace back the wires that give me the most issues.

Need to know where the wires from the ground distribution block on the passenger front ground post go.

Thanks!

Dielectric grease is an insulator, not a conductor. A meter will make finding a ground problem short work.

I found several of the crimped wires within the GM ground plugs not providing a true ground (have resistance). As stated above a meter will make short work of your problem. I had continuous DIC codes until I removed the chessy ground connectors and soldered all the wires to several ground lugs (as found on the C6) and then attached the lug to the ground bolt and properly torqued. I have been amazed as to how all of the intermitent problems have disappeared. Good info from the forum members.

Thanks for this hunter2- That will be a big help I'm sure.

Yeah, I am about to go after it with my meter.

Also, I have contemplated turning the ground block into lugs- my only concern is that there are ~10 wires- did you combine them into several lugs? How many ground wires per lug did you feel safe with?

Thanks guys-

I put 3 to a lug with the Brake Module ground on its own. Just depends on the size of your ground lugs. If you have the right size you could put them all in one. I would highly recommend you solder the wires in the lugs and not crimp if possible. Good luck and hope it clears up your problems.

GM has a solution for your ground issue. HACK OFF that damn ground plug and SOLDER all the wires into a single ground lug eyelet. AS SEEN ON the C6!

NO MORE Ground Plug Issues! The C6 uses this solution and method for the chassis ground points.

Cut, stripped, crimped, and soldered.
In the testing phase now- everything works fine for the moment.

It will be a great day in corvette ownership to kill off this series of problems..

Good luck! I hope you get the same improvements I got. Even cleared up my never ending Service Active Handeling and Traction Control codes. You doing all of your grounds that way or just the one? While you got the tools handy I'd catch them all. There is also a ground plug taped up in a wire bundle behind the battery which is also a trouble maker. Just cut the plug off and solder the wires together. The plug has one chessy ground wire coming in to feed several circuits a ground through the flemsy male/female contacts in the plug. Not sure of the ground point number.

I think you are preventing many headaches in the future!
