Default dead battery issue

I have a 2000 convertable that has the electric seats driver and passenger sides. I have had the passenger seat go all the way forward while parked and the 1st time I found it that way the seat traction motor was very hot and the battery was nearly dead. The second time it did this the battery was completely dead and passenger seat was all the way forward again. I disconnected the power control to the seat under the seat for fear that it would catch the thing on fire. After that I have been riding down the road , on 2 occasions the drivers seat moved on its own into the position number 2 that was programed into the memory switch!!!!!!! Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. On a note there had been some heavy rain the 1st time I found the passenger seat forward and both seats had a little water on the sides of them and carpet was wet on passenger side.

could be water damage on the electric motors, the weather stripping is probably leaking

Have you checked the wires inside the driver's door accordian covering near the door hinge? It is somewhat common that one or two of those wires can short, causing all kinds of weird things to happen. If you run a search, I'm sure you'll find pics as well.
