Does '08-up C6 manual really shift better than C5?

I drive my father in laws 2008 Z06 alot and it definately feels like it shifts smoother. My 2003 Z06 has a notchier almost gated feel to it but mine is a B&M and his is stock.

I have driven my friends 08 Z06 and did not notice any or much difference between his and my 04 C5 with a 08 C6 Shifter. I love the way mine shifts.

I had a 99 with a B&M shifter and it felt notchy and gated as described.
I missed a few fast shifts in the 99 C5 but never missed a fast shift in my smother shifting 08 C6 with the stock shifter.

7 year thread bump, nice.
See here for my project to fix a C5's crappy shift feel.

As others have said, the shifters are about the same - I have had both C5 and C6 shifters apart in my shop - same internals. Even with a brand new C6 shift assembly in my C5, there was still side to side "slop" especially in the 1-2 arc. The main difference is that the C6 has the lever bent back toward the driver, and has a much nicer shift ****. Plus of course, a better transmission.
In the end I went back to a rebuilt C5 shift assembly, cut down and threaded as far as I could with a Hurst ****, and then bolted in down hard to the torque tube. There's enough travel to allow 2 finger shifting, but it does not look anywhere as agricultural as the OEM shifter.

yes it is the worst manual out of all the cars I have ever owned. My 2016 Challenger was much smoother. My wrangler is absolutely perfect and easy. BMW 3 series was smooth and easy. The Corolla was amazingly smooth and fun.
The vette has the worst feel by far and I've driven plenty of C5s. I have an MGW shifter in now and previously had the C6 Z06. It shifts like a shitty truck but I don't really notice it when I'm pushing the car hard. Fun is fun. Doesn't matter what shifter you have or if you do the antivenom mod. It's "good enough" but compared to others it sucks. Damn sure is bulletproof though. And even though it feels bad (comparably) I never miss 3rd like I can in the wrangler or challenger.

Damn my fault for bumping an old thread.

Interesting!! My 2003 Coupe is one of the best shifting vehicles I have ever had. My 74 Coupe shifted well also. Now if you really want a challenge try a four speed 1964 Corvair. Just my 2 cents.
