Default Side vent screens

I have been reading up on installation of these. Several have said to install some wooden stripes for backing. How and where do you install or attach these stripes? If you know where there are some "Detailed instructions" I would Thank you ahead of time for the info.

Mine had a couple small "blocks" of some material (think lego piece) attached to the inside of the fender to keep you from being able to push the screen in. Hard to explain and even harder to get a picture of. The other side of the screen has the double stick tape on it.

Mine had the 3M double side tape.Works fine.Years later when they start to get loose, just put a small dot of clear hot-glue to make the fit tight.

As always,IMO.

Hot glue is the sure bet to mount the screens. Just make sure that the screens are firmly installed by bending the sides where the 3M tape is. This will help keep the screens in place for years to come. Heck, don't be surprised if you find trash in the vents. I found trash and leaves in mide.

When I installed mine a few years ago I used clear silicone to cement them in. The process I used was to remove wheel and inner fender. Clean backside of cove and then dry fit the screen. Once satisfied with dry fit I put a bead of silicone on the back side of the cove and then insert the screen. To hold the screen in place for 24 hrs I used a bungee cord hooked to the screen and then wrapped the other end around the mirror. The bungee cord length I used kept just enough tension on the screen to keep it locked in place.
