Why am i reading such a high temperature after sitting for so long seconds after firing up?
So it is in the 50-60's and arrive to work and notice my fan is running and temperature climbing. Luckily i made it to the parking lot before this began.
At lunch i notice that my over flow coolant tank looks to be empty so I am on my way to a part shop to grab a gallon and decide to stop in at Jiffy Lube instead to do a flush as the temperature was climbing 225 at the stop light.
Well the guys operating the flush machine looked like they did not know what they were doing. I saw them change the lines on the connections back and fourth a couple of times while they tried to get the transfer to begin while pinching the reservoir line.
Well now it seems that my temperature gauge for coolant is not working correctly. After sitting a couple of hours in 60 degree weather the gauge and DIC displayed 124 immediately after starting her up.
Make sure you have burped (removed all air from the system) and the overflow tank is full. If the overflow is not full or if you have any air locks in the system it will run hot. There are several post telling you how to remove the air........

over flow tank may have too much fluid. When i remove the cap from the tank fluid is all the way up to the bottom of the fill tube.
bee sure you have all the air out the system. Just because the tank is full does not mean that air is not trapped in the block
What is the best way to do this?
I went out and squeezed on the lower and upper radiator hose. I could hear noise that sounds like air going into the tank but i never see any air bubbles.
I have started it with the cap off let it run for a min or two. It was at 170 degrees.
I am just not sure if it is normal to remain that hot after 2 hours being parked?
Best way is via vacuum however, there is a procedure on here somewhere on it. I think its like run to temp with the cap off, put cap on, drive a few min take cap off, hell im not sure. I have the radiator tools to draw a vacuum for mine.
Check for debris in front of condenser and between the condenser and radiator. Since the car sat, there may be rodent nests or other stuff up there choking off the air flow.
