Do you have the part number for the rotors? Brand? Is the work fairly straight forward? Is there a thread on here to diy? Thanks a billion! 

I purchased my rotors at NAPA 3 years ago. Just go to the store and ask them what rotors that they have for your C5. If I'm not mistaken, they have two different levels. I purchased the standard C5 rotor and it has worked fantastic. Like previously stated, it like $40ish a rotor. I have a retired military ID so, I 10% off the price. That was a PLUS. See if they do AAA or maybe some other discount like Police Officer, or something that you may be a member of.

If you have a service manual, the brake pad and rotor replacement procedure is not MAGIC. It is straight forward. Make sure that you properly TORQUE the fasteners to the service manual specs and use the proper thread locking compounds and synthetic caliper pin greases called out in the manual.

You are the man! I will buy a service manual and give it a whirl! I have replaced brakes on a few other vehicles. Are there any tricks or things to watch out for? Thanks in advance!

Aw, MAN! Now your gone and done it. Your going to make me give up ALL my secrets!

- Repack the caliper sliding pins with synthetic caliper grease.

- Make sure the rubber boots for the pins are in good condition.

- Purchase new RED and BLUE Locktite for the caliper bolts (you need each)

- Get the GM ZO6 brake pad kit. It comes with all the proper quieting springs and parts.

- If you want an up graded pad, look toward EBC.

- GENE CULLEY www.gmpartshouse.com has excellent prices on ALL GM OEM parts. He has all the brake stuff you will need for LESS than your dealer.

While you're at it, check out his C6 sway bar and C6 ZO6 shock deals. They are fantastic and ill make your car handle like its superpose to!!

There 100% a bolt right in improvement!!!

Ive had several C5 and I only post my SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS learned info and what works very well for the guys that need improvements on a budget. SURE,, I can tell you to purchase mega dollar coil over systems and high end aftermarket sway bar stuff. Do you really need it to drive on the street to improve your daily driver??? NO!

Check to make sure the pipes going over the axle are not touching anything, it can be a tight fit. I have also hear something like that can be caused by the h-pipe but Im not sure.

I only replaced the mufflers so far, I've read something about the springs are set for weight and I need to add another spring to keep them apart or something like that. I just finished making my jack pucks so I will get a look when I get off work tomorrow. 

I would not think that the springs on the exhaust are causing a rattle unless they are broke, the most common issue would be that where the pipes go over the axle they are touching the transmission or something else since you put new mufflers on. I know when I installed the slp loudmouths I had to do a lot of adjusting so they wouldnt touch anything.

Also Bill I am open to as many cost effective mods that are possible. Like I said before all I have done in the three weeks since I have purchased the c5 is a bbk intake and American thunder exhaust that was a Christmas gift from my fiancé, not my first choice on either but hey! They were free! 

I have NUMEROUS post on C5 battery drain issues. Do the current draw test and see what it reads. 20 - 25 milliamps is the OEM Spec. If your reading higher than that, something that is suppose to be OFF isnt!

Things that have been C5 curent draw issues in the past.

-Drivers seat multifuction switch not returning to the nuteral position.

- Some interior light remainng ON.

- Some relay that is suppose to be OFF isnt turning OFF.

- Drivers seat LUMBAR switch/circuit malfunction.

Give those a look/
