Automatic headlight issue?
I have a 99 conv. When I use the DIC to change from auto to manual it will not change over? Has anyone heard of this and/or knows the fix?

I might be wrong, but I think that cars made for some countries it can't be changed. They are always on auto.

I believe Canada cars are stuck with the option.

GM Tech 2 can turn it off. Where are you located? Maybe you can find someone where you live that has one.

I'm was having this issue myself. Let me ask, are your low beams turning on or sometimes not coming on? Are they coming up or staying down? If they are staying down, are they actually illuminated? Depending on your options, there are only three main items. The headlamp switch itself which has a fairly high failure rate, the headlamp control module which raises or lowers the lights and finally the headlamp motors.

dgrant3830, My headlights are working as they should. The only issue is I can not turn off automatic and be in manual mode.

Then you'll need to find out if you have a Canadian car.

I'll suggest that you send an email to Gene Culley and give him your VIN# as if anyone can tell you, its probably him.

I checked the VIN and found that this started out on the west coast (California), then New Mexico, Michigan, and finally Pennsylvania.

If that is the case, then I"ll suspect the headlamp switch is having issues. Its a high failure item.
