There is a reason high power guys are upgrading to C6 Z06 diff
Few of the forum members run the C6 Z06 diff in their C5 due to the power they put out. I had a chance to compare a C5 ring and pinion gears with a C6 Z06 counterpart and WOW! Now I know why these can handle so much power. See for yourself.

The one in my sig is to install C6 Z06 parts (all except the ring and pinion gears) into a C5 case. This is to compare the C5 to a C6 Z06 ring and pinion gears. The few guys who upgraded to this combo also had to:
-Use 06 up C6 Z06 T56/TR6060
-Use a C6 rear cradle with lower control arms and spring (just the cradle if using coil overs)
-Phadt offset mounts
-Modify exaust pipe over the axles
BLOWNBLUEZ06 (Bret) has done this conversion and he is putting down 1,000 HP at the wheels.
After I get my engine done this year, I might be doing this conversion myself.

Andy, Motive has no plans to manufacture different ratios for the C6 Z06 diff since they aren't enough out there to be worth their while. Only other option is to use a MZ6 (2.97 first gear) ratio or MH3 (2.29 first gear) TR6060 to change the final ratio. MZ6 has the 27 splined shaft but that can be replaced with Z06 shaft to make it work.

Z06 diff
When doing my research for a new trans and diff set up for my 03 Z06(almost 2 years ago), I decided to go with an 08 Z51 so that I could change out to 3:90s. The ratio could not be changed in the Z06 diff.
I was told by reputable sources the C6 is much stronger than the C5.
I did have to go to an 05 rear cross member allowing me to use my C5 lower control arms and Pfadts offset mounts.
I also went to coilovers. If I wanted to stay with a transverse leaf, the lower control arms would have to be changed out also.
