2001 and up C5's can turn ON & turn OFF TPM feature. The feture lives in the Body Control Module (BCM) programming. To gain access to the BCM and change its programming, you have to use a GM TECH 2. There are people who own then and most garrages and all dealers have them. There EXPENSIVE and not simple to use.
Install the sensors and have the feature turned on in the BCM via a TECH 2. The TECH 2 plugs into the OBDII port just like any other scanning/programming hardware.
Once the feature is active in the BCM, you use a magnet to turn the sensor on in each the wheel to allow it to transmit while the wheel is not rotating. When the magnet is placed over each sensor it turns the sensor ON so it transmits to the RFA Module. The specific TPS sensor Training procedure is in the owners manual.
The dealer charged me ONE HOUR LABOR to do the procedure and train the sensors. (It most likely took them 30 min to complete) You can train the sensors your self.

OK thanks Bill. I'm going to wait until i replace the tires. I just bought the car last year and I did check the pump to be sure it w orks. The stuff you put in the tire is past the date on the package so I think I'll just get a good tire repair kit just in case of a flat.
