didnt mean to start anything, I figured that since the car was completely stock that the sway bar diameter would be a constant. since i actually dont have calipers I was hoping that someone else had already measured.
I sold my coupe with Z06 sway bars and metal end-links. If susbsequent owners were to follow Mr. Gene's advice and order based on the VIN they would be hard pressed to install standard bushings on larger Z06 sway bars.
I don't understand why measuring before purchasing is so difficult of a concept to grasp for some and why I'm being criticized for pointing this out. As Lucky said, it's your car do as you please.
The point is simple. Unless you know for certain, that the sway bars are stock, measure them first. You don't need an expensive caliper. You could pick up a cheap plastic one at an auto parts store. Much better to measure first, than to order the wrong size, and find out after you have the car off the ground. Your choice.....
Well considering it still has the plastic end links, yes I am certain it has the oem sway bars. it still has the oem airbox, exhaust, until yesterday it still had the oem tires. Still that is a good deal on the z06 sway bars up there.
Thank you Mr. GM parts house sycophant for that resounding recommendation and pointless diatribe about part numbers. If you want to buy overpriced parts from that organization go for it!
How about reading my original recommendation to the OP and staying on point. Measure GD sway bar before you buy new bushings!
You are nothing but a resentful, simpering loud mouth! The pointless diatribe started when you posted your pure BS about GM parts direct. If you don't like them great but keep your stupidity to yourself. You and your ilk are what degrades this forum not the people who are trying to be helpful!

There's a time honored phrase that fits this situation to a tee.... It's not WHAT you say, it's HOW you say it....and obviously, you DON'T know how to say it.
Measure the OD with a set of calipers, that is the only way to be sure of what you have.
This is the correct answer to the OP's question.

In my book Gene Culley is the best vendor on this forum. Although his prices aren't always the lowest, his customer service and satisfaction is always the highest. For these reasons I have made numerous purchases from him and will continue to do so.
That said: Although I'm sure Gene was looking to help the OP (and of course make a sale along the way), his response in this case was technically wrong.
So why am I even posting this?! Because I can't stop laughing at the responses from everyone else. Everybody needs to calm down...
