Default Basic Exhaust question

I have a 2000 coupe, I added B&B bullets axle backs and corsa x-pipe (after the stock H pipe weld snapped). If i was looking to upgrade the rest of the exhaust, headers and cats, is there another piece I'm missing?

Does it go
Header -> Cats -> x-pipe -> axle back ?

I guess im confused with the terms long tube and midpipe. Do the long tube headers go directly to the cats?
Also the 2000's have a different cat sensor setup or something right?

I'm pretty much just trying to keep my eyes open in the used parts section for something that i might need.

Thanks Nick

You have it right...some refer to the cat section as mids....

You basically have it down. Most long tube headers come with an x-pipe which either is catted or non catted. If you do not get an x-pipe with the headers you are going to need to do a little bit of fab work. Oh and the cat back will bolt up to the x-pipe just like it does the h-pipe.

The cats go behind the collectors on the long tubes, you most likely have just replaced the section behind the factory cats which means you will probably want to get headers with a catted x-pipe.

Depends on the header you buy....Billy Boat comes header, cat section, x-pipe, axle back............LGs have cat section & X pipe as one piece..

LG's have separate pipes where the cats go so they can sell catted or catless systems.

You can either get a system that replaces the X-pipe or just get the headers and make up the pipes/cats to connect the headers to your x-pipe.

Do a before and after on the dyno and make sure it was worth it. would love to see the gains from just a long tube header install.
