Default Starter mods..

Okay I am pickin up my first vette next weekend and wondering what are some decent starter mods

2000 FRC 94K miles
Corsa Catback
Vararam Intake

Now I just sold my 87 Iroc that I built a forged 370 LQ with a big turbo. So I already know the motors pretty good.
But I did everything all at once and since it was turboed I didnt need headers and ran a vic jr.

For this season I wanna keep the it cheap and enjoy the car.

I was thinking...

This season

LS6 Intake (I cant believe how much up in price these have went)
Ported or 90mm TB
Texas Speed 1 3/4 LT's (do these have good fitment and ground clearance)
Hardened pushrods
Valve Springs (PRC's)

Plans for the car may possibly do a Twin rear mount or single 76-78mm rear mount turbo. But when this come I know im gonna be on borrowed time and #7 will probably explode fast haha

Also eventually I know ill need a clutch.. I was looking at the monster LVL3 (for future mods) But I hear that its very chattery and glazes easy.

Then I read alot of good on the SPEC 3+ but then read some bad reviews of quality latley.

My buddy had a ACT HDSS and fidenza Flywheel and he loves it.

I also drove my buddies 99SS with a Mcloed Twin disk and it seemed to be very smooth.

congrats on the car from another 00 FRC owner!

lots of people typically run 1 7/8 headers if they're planning on building it up (like it sounds like you are). also, if you're gonna do a rear turbo kit, headers wouldn't really do a lot for you, from what i understand, just because of the increased restriction they add. you'd lose any flow advantage headers gave you over stock manifolds.

I am looking to have LT Headers installed on my 2002 Z06 by a reputable and well know local Houston Corvette tuner.

Their recommendation was to go with the 1 3/4" LT. The 1 7/8" will lose low end torque - unless going to a larger displacement engine. He sais the 1 3/4" LT is the best choice for the 346 ci engine in any state of modification .

I too have been debating between the two options - but this shop has a stellar reputation on this forum and I have to consider their advice.

Just my thoughts
